Dating.com poll found 86% of singles didn’t want to date someone who isn’t vaccinated
Masking and vaccinations are tricky topics during the COVID-19 pandemic, and everyone from governments to school districts is weighing in on best practices to stay safe.
Now a dating site says singles are taking a stand too.
Dating.com has released the results of a new survey. One of the questions asked was whether respondents would date someone who is not vaccinated against COVID-19.
According to the site, 86% of people who responded, an overwhelming majority, said there was no way to date an unvaccinated person. But dating experts said the results didn’t necessarily come from a health and safety perspective. Instead, they can be more focused on what they can’t do on a date.
“From restaurants to movies – and even sporting events – traditional dating activity is limited based on vaccination status, and our members see it as a big break,” says Maria Sullivan, Dating Vice President and Dating Expert. com.
The pandemic has been a difficult time for many singles. There has been forced isolation with stay-at-home orders, many events have been canceled, and bars and restaurants have been closed.
Even with the isolation, there are a handful of other things that those responding to the survey identified as “dealbrakers.”
Over 55% said being late was an instant killer. Many are also not fans of long-distance relationships, with 35% of respondents saying they were not interested.
If you plan to use a dating site, be sure to research it and pay attention to the type of information you share.
