Last week, Marvel fans and Disney Channel fans alike took to the internet after reports surfaced that MCU star Chris Evans (Captain America / Steve Rogers) and the former the Wizards of Waverly Place starlet Selena Gomez (Alex Russo) was dating.

The rumors about Princess Protection Service grande dame and the MCU Avengers Alum franchise began when the 40-year-old actor “followed her [29-year-old Gomez] on Instagram. Internet spies also spotted the two leaving a studio together in Los Angeles on October 1. They were later seen together in a restaurant.

Now, however, dating rumors have been debunked thanks to investigative work by the fashion magazine, She. Their recent item Remarks:
… the paparazzi photos of them in the same alleged locations are actually old photos of Gomez (one of her leaving a studio in October 2019 and another of her leaving Pilates in November 2017) and Evans (one of him from summer 2020 when he was with then-flame Lily James in London and another is by him from October 2013), appearing separately with similar backgrounds who are actually different places.

It is, however, correct that Evans recently followed Gomez on Instagram – although it should be noted that she has not followed the actor as of yet.
Fans of the duo, however, are still persistent and haven’t given up on a potential relationship between the two Hollywood stars.

For now, both Evans and Gomez are officially single and kept busy in their post-Infinity Saga and post-Disney Channel lives, respectively.
