Marriage of the Week: Nakita Fernandes and Christopher Delroy met through online dating site Bumble

It was the equivalent of love at first sight for online dating when Chris and Nakita met on Bumble four years ago.

Nakita had downloaded the dating app on a Monday, was in a relationship with Chris on Tuesday, and decided to delete the app on Wednesday.

The bride, from Goa, ensured her Indian traditions were honored during the low-key ceremony, including exchanging garlands of rose petals as a sign of a lifetime promise and wrapping them around each other while reciting their vows.

When and where

The couple married in a small, intimate setting with their families on May 14, 2022 at the Perth Marriage Registry Office, followed by a small party at the family’s Leighton Beach flat. With Nakita’s immediate family based in Mumbai, the newlyweds are planning to have a happier celebration with their two extended families in Goa next year.

While Chris wore a suspender suit by MJ Bale, Nakita looked stunning in a lime green saree by Kalki Fashion.

Honeymoon

The lovebirds plan to honeymoon after their second wedding in India next year, and are currently leaning towards Himachal Pradesh in India, Cambodia or Vietnam.
