This new dating app connects users through their love for music
POM is hosting a party with Shanti Celeste this week to coincide with its official launch.
POM – aka the power of music – is a new dating app for music lovers. The app aims to connect users through their common tastes in melodies, harnessing the connecting powers of music and musical experiences. POM users can sign up and connect their favorite streaming service (the initial launch is compatible with Spotify and Apple Music) to their dating profile. Their interests will then be analyzed by a unique algorithm in order to decipher the links between their musical history and their emotional responses.
The app is set to officially launch on August 10, after months of social media teasers and waitlist registrations. It’s limited to 25,000 users at the moment, but POM has released a queue app that allows potential users to secure their profile in advance. The first 1,000 games of launch week will be eligible for a free date, with more info on that. On launch day, the Queue app will switch to the full POM app.
POM will also offer organized events and real dating experiences. The first of his POM parties will take place this Thursday (August 5) at Night Tales in east London. Shanti Celeste will play the event, which will start at 5 p.m. (BST). Kristi, Thor, Maro and Aunty Party have also been confirmed. Tickets are available here.
Discover POM via its website and listen to Shanti Celeste live again at Field Maneuvers 2019.
