Who is David Shane? Amber Heard’s public relations director charged with sexual assault

Amber Heard’s new public relations manager, David Shane, is accused of sexually abusing women he met through dating apps.

On Twitter, screenshots of Facebook messages are circulating which would show that women have made their allegations.

Shane was recently hired by Heard after switching PR teams amid Johnny Depp’s ongoing libel lawsuit against her.

Amber Heard’s public relations manager David Shane has been accused of sexual misconduct.

A woman, who says she got Shane through the dating app, Raya, has claimed he tried to force her after meeting in real life.

The woman, who went by the name H, said she remembered meeting Shane for dinner at Mr. Chow, a restaurant in Los Angeles. She claimed he had been “drinking a lot” and started to get “pretty boring” during their two-hour date.

After their date, she alleges that she needs to return to Shane’s condo in West Hollywood, where, according to her post, he suddenly became aggressive towards her while initiating sex.

She claims Shane insinuated that she “owed” him because of the dinners he paid for while they were gone.

After the incident, the woman posted an alert about her in a Facebook group about online dating experiences. She also claims to have alerted the app through which she met Shane, warning them of a user who was potentially putting women at risk.

Eventually, H ended up seeing Shane during the defamation lawsuit between Heard and Depp, acknowledging him as the man she dated.

Heard had previously worked with Precision Strategies, but left the company in favor of Shane Communications, led by CEO David Shane.

On the company’s website, which was recently scrubbed of all information, the consultancy advises clients on “a wide range of industries, including media, entertainment and technology.”

Shane previously worked at ICM Partners and served as Vice President of Global External Communications at Hewlett-Packard. Prior to starting his public relations firm, Shane was also vice president of public relations at Comcast.

Following the abuse allegations, Shane deactivated all of his social media accounts, including his LinkedIn page.

Shane Communications had also represented Depp’s former business team, The Management Group. Depp ended up suing the company in 2017 for allegedly mismanaging its finances, according to Vanity Fair.

The management group reportedly claimed Depp “needed to hire a shrink for his $2 million a month ‘compulsive spending’ habit.”

Depp and the management group eventually settled the case out of court in July 2018.
